As mines open in increasingly challenging locations, the need for improved productivity, better mobility and lower costs becomes more pressing. Sleipner dollies and trailers help you solve all these issues.

Wheels of change for mining

INCREASE PRODUCTIVITY BY 12–20%

REDUCE TRAVEL TIME BY UP TO 85%

SAVE ON UNDERCARRIAGE MAINTENANCE BY 50%

REDUCE EXCAVATOR LCC BY 10–18%

REDUCE MAINTENANCE LABOUR HOURS BY 20%

Less tramming, more working

Sleipner’s ingenious, robust and mine-proven mobility solutions help you increase productivity and reduce costs. With Sleipner dollies and trailers, you can achieve up to an 85% reduction in transport times for tracked equipment compared to driving on tracks. Sleipner dollies and off-road trailers also significantly reduce the maintenance costs of the tracked equipment by doubling or even tripling the lifespan of the undercarriage.

Easy relocation means you can take your tracked equipment to the workshop for service and maintenance, where the tools and spares are available in a safe working environment. Workshop maintenance is at least 20% faster than in the pit, which results in reduced downtime and maintenance labour hours. All this improves the utilisation and availability rates of your tracked equipment.

Are you looking for increased productivity and cost savings combined with better mobility? Sleipner solutions solve all of these challenges in the mining industry. The efficient use of Sleipner products can increase your productivity by between 12% and 20%.

INCREASE PRODUCTIVITY BY 12-20%

What does it mean to cut travel time by up to 85% for your tracked equipment? Whereas transporting an excavator or drill by tramming can take more than one shift, with Sleipner dollies or trailers it can be done in one or two hours. This means there is less tramming and an increase of between 12% and 20% in productivity.

MAINTENANCE

Transporting your equipment smoothly on rubber wheels can double or even triple the undercarriage lifespan, greatly reducing service costs. What’s more, instead of impromptu field repairs, the tracked equipment can easily be taken to the workshop for service and maintenance. Having all the work done in a workshop is much faster, safer and more organised. After service, the equipment can be easily dropped off at the next working location according to your production needs.

PLANNING

Mobilising your tracked equipment opens up entirely new mine planning possibilities. Typically, the freed-up transport time can equal having one extra excavator at your disposal. When the mobility of your drill fleet does not set any restrictions on planning, blasting sequences can be planned without compromises. Dozers can be relocated according to production needs. Areas that do not require fulltime dozer service availability can be operated with shared resources.

FLEXIBILITY

Putting wheels under tracked equipment brings flexibility to operations. The equipment is easy to move whenever needed, and relocation can be done even in the middle of a shift. Blasting breaks and fly-in fly-out (FIFO) roster changes can be used for maintenance procedures in the workshop.

HEAR IT FROM THE USER

“After professional on-site training and commissioning, the operators are eager and confident in using the Sleipner products. After a few months of use, the positive impact was already visible in maintenance. Together with the increased production time, the payback time was almost instant.”
